Function: Development
Role Type: Permanent

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Principal UI Architect.

You will be working on the new venture of an entrepreneur who has already created and sold a £1bn unicorn. Would you like to be one of the first 10 employees with share options?

They are a well-funded, early-stage start-up with a big vision. Their aim is to help people make good decisions.

They are a highly experienced team who put product and design at the heart of what they do. As part of the development team, your role is to lead the technical design and creation of the frontends of the system.

In conjunction with others on the engineering team, you will decide the language(s), framework(s) and technology stack in which the application UI will be built.

You will design the Client UI architecture whilst still being a hands-on member of the engineering team. This is a small company, and you will be writing and reviewing code.

Key Skills Required:

  • 10+ years experience of UI development across a range of platforms and frameworks, including some understanding of mobile development
  • Strong understanding of the pros and cons of different technologies and frameworks
  • Good implementation-level knowledge of best practice in Security and Accessibility
  • Experience of prototyping and building static sites as well as webapp development (including cross-platform packaging and deployment)
  • Knowledge of at least one Java-like back-end language
  • An active interest in observing user research in order to understand user needs
  • Ability to own decisions and see opportunities for improvements
  • Good written communication, and willingness to present work internally
  • Desire to share knowledge within our team and absorb others' perspectives and understanding
  • Desire to mentor and grow junior developers

This role will be 100% remote and the ideal candidate will be based in the UK but they are flexible on this.

They are flexible on salary between £100,000 - £140,000 depending on experience and comes with healthy stock options.

In all my time in hiring tech roles I'm struggling to think of better, career-defining and possibly life-changing opportunity than this.
