As an Engineering Manager you will lead a team of 6-8 talented Engineers of different open source languages including Java, Python, Golang, Scala and Node.js.
Your background will be in one of these languages, but you're now interested in how you can develop others to be the best they can be, whilst still keeping your skills current. A rough split on the role is 30% hands on, 70% leadership.
As a leader you will be responsible for embedding best-practices into software engineering, looking at ways to drive efficiency and embedding Agile best practices. You will also be a leader who can get the best out of their team - generating a positive working culture, raising standards and ensuring everyone is the best they can be.
Your role will also work with the Senior leadership team and ultimately contribute to making the business the best possible version it can be.
It is likely you're currently a Team/Practice Lead looking for a dedicated management role, or an Engineering/Development Manager looking for something far more interesting and rewarding.
